·          TO REGISTER-- MAIL THE CLASS FEE along with name of class, your name, address and phone # –or PHONE US  WITH CREDIT CARD – or REGISTER ON LINE .  ADVANCE REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED FOR WORKSHOPS.  DISCOUNTS ARE FOR EARLY REGISTRATION RECEIVED BY THE DATE INDICATED

·          A PHONE CALL WITHOUT CREDIT CARD WILL NOT HOLD YOUR PLACE.

·          REGISTRATION FEE IS  NON TRANSFERABLE except with prior teacher approval.   

·          WE REFUND ENTIRE FEE IF WE CANCEL OR WEATHER PROHIBITS TRAVEL

·          ½ THE CLASS FEE WILL BE REFUNDED IF STUDENT CANCELS AT LEAST 2 DAYS IN ADVANCE.  No refunds will be given after this time.

·          SALES TAX will be calculated on the portion of the class fee which covers supplies

 

* **  A LATE FEE OF $20 WILL BE ADDED FOR ANYONE WHO REGISTERS LESS THAN 48 HOURS BEFORE THE CLASS unless filling a cancellation.

 

Classes are limited to 7 people  Unless otherwise noted supplies are included, as well as use of our tools.

Glamorous Gromets
With Guest Teacher
Douglass Goldberg

Students will learn to transform this well known Industrial item into an attractive and fun Steampunk style Bracelet. The skills taught can also be converted into other jewelry, including earrings and necklaces. No one will suspect you started with grommets after you use your new skills to repurpose them. This is a mixed metals piece, you will also include pewter, silver plate, copper, and colored wire. It's a great way to learn to use new materials! Student kits will include a full grommet set of tools and extra parts to take home.

Mystic Crystal Hatband
with Guest Teacher Wendy Stevens

Bring your own hat and make a decorative accent and at the same time enhance your psychic abilites or aid in healing with the stones of your choice.  You will create this one of a kind band by learning how to measure properly, using macrame and silk cords to add beads, creating a double knot sinnett.  Finish with a sliding macrame knot with stylish beaded ends.  Beautiful, healing and creative.

This class will cover the differences between Fusing and Soldering and will bring students to another level in their torch work. Two projects will be completed in Sterling Silver—a Fused Pendant and a Soldered Ring. Patina will also be introduced and students who choose to Patina their pieces will do so. The rings will be hand polished with a Flex Shaft tool. Must have completed Beginning Soldering or have permission of instructor, provide work samples and pass a written test on basics and safety.

Have you ever wanted to make a fossil shark's tooth into a pendant for yourself or for someone special in your life? Now is your opportunity with this Mini Class. Here you can learn an easy wire wrap to change that fossil find into a wearable pendant. This class is great for beginners as well as advanced students.

Create a vintage 90’s style bracelet made with a peyote stitch frame and toggle clasp, with the addition of a fringe and charms. This class is open to Beginners as well as advanced students. Please specify your choice of working with small beads (size 11) or large (size 6) so that the teacher can have kits ready for you. The originals are on display in the store if you need to see them in order to make your choice. We will also try to have your color choices on hand if possible.

Introduction to Beading

Learn to make earrings, bracelets and necklaces using Soft Flex, Memory Wire, Eyepins, Headpins, Chain and a variety of Findings.  This class will include an introduction to basic tools and beading techniques.

Learn to wire work with the Wig Jig Olympus and pliers! Make matching wire components to create a pair of stylish earrings. You will learn to harden wire, make dangles, loops, and swirls while using an assortment of beads of your choosing. This is a great opportunity to learn basic wig jig skills which will carry over to being able to create your own designs.

caldron watefall.jpg (194974 bytes)The Waterfall - An Advanced Metal Fusing and Soldering Project
 Taught by Metals Master Murf Moorefield

Students will build a flowing, tumbling core piece by fusing both sterling wire and sheet. They will then be soldering on their choice of brooch and/or pendant components, and adding bezel cups for the stones of their choice. After polishing, stones will be set into their waterfall to create the image of tumbling waters. This project will expand your use of the torch and your understanding of the properties of sterling silver.  Students must know soldering.

Interested in gems for your designs but confused about how to id them? Wonder about the difference between a glass bead and one made of minerals? Are the blue stones in the display turquoise, variscite, blue chalcedony, or glass? “Gemology for Designers” introduces you to the art and science of gemology. The class covers ways to identify gems as beads, how to care for them, and how to tell imitations and synthetics from the real things. There will be lots of hands-on opportunities during the class as Caldron is a Rock Shop!
